ABOUT DEXASCAN SERVICES

Dexascan Services carries out bone mineral density testing to assess bone strength for the prevention and identification of Osteopenia in the early stages, and treatment and monitoring of Osteoporosis using the DEXACAREŽ G4 OSTEOMETER, a pDXA scanner.  The scan takes two minutes, it is non-intrusive (no need to undress) and x-ray exposure is very, very small.  A copy of the scan result is provided and this is discussed with the patient at the time.  This scanner has the ability to re-scan at exactly the same site in the future, thereby accurately monitoring even minor changes in BMD.  Ideal to assess the efficiency of medication.

The G4 Osteometer  has a precision error of only 1% and is used in a number of hospitals and other medical establishments.  One of the main benefits of this equipment is the ability to re-scan at exactly the same site in the future, thereby accurately monitoring even minor changes in BMD.  This test is less invasive than other tests of this type and derives much of its accuracy from the limited amount of body tissue at the forearm site.

Dexascan Services is branch of Dr. I T Garrod & Associates (Established 1982). Haverhill Chiropractic Centre and Colchester Chiropractic Centre also part of Dr. I T Garrod & Associates. (www.chiropracticcentres.org).
